Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 073 and 074
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

My son is in DIV 073 anyone else have a loved one in the division? I received a call from him last night for about 10 minutes. He sounded good and it was so great to here is voice. I have not received any letters yet but he did tell me that he was allowed to started this past Sunday. After I hung up with him I was missing him pretty bad and hope that he is doing ok and staying strong....which I am sure he is just he Mom in me worrying for her baby boy. Would love to hear anyones experiences so far.
Hi Terces.. I am not sure why I was so sad either. I think maybe cause he did not sound like himself. He was very soft spoken and sounded so tired. I do feel very blessed that I was able to get that call. Sounds like some families have not even spoken to their loved one yet. I hope to get a letter soon. Is you son in DIV 073?
I am one who is still waiting on a call. Do they get to make calls during the week, Terces? I miss him!
Hi Terces my son told me that he missed the original call too because he was on watch. Make sense that you said that your son called from the quarterdeck and that is why he was talking so quietly. My son did not tell me that he was calling from there but if he was indeed it makes me feel a bit better about how he sounded. Thanks for sharing that with me
073 here.
Same thing with my son. He was at the briefing. They got back to the living compartment 5 minutes after the division went to make calls.
My son got the 10 minute call from the quarterdeck Sunday night. He broke down when he heard my voice. I felt pretty good after talking to him even though he was upset. They are all pretty tried right now so there is no telling how they will sound when they call.
We will be getting mail any day now since they were able to write letters Sunday.
My son said their RDCs are the nicest on his ship.
It is really nice to hear others and their experiences with their child or loved one. Especially when knowing that they are going thru this together on the same DIV. Helps to answer a lot of questions by just connecting to you all and all of your experiences with your loved ones. Thank you!
If you aren't on the Facebook page for "our" division you can join here. There is a lot of information exchanged over there.
Hi! My son is div 74. Received a letter today! It was great! He's getting his wisdom teeth out this week so I'm hoping all is well. Everyone else should be getting their letters soon too. We live in Illinois so the mail doesn't take as long.
Hi Jennifer, I have not received a letter yet and can not wait to get one. My son also said that he may have to have his wisdom teeth pulled. Do you know what their recovery time would be and is that effects their PIR date? I have had my wisdom teeth pulled and it is not a good time.
Having wisdom teeth pulled won't effect their PIR date. They get to stay in the rack for a day or two then they are back at it.
When I read up on what to expect for RTC i was amazed at how many get their wisdom teeth pull during training. If their is any doubt they are coming out.
