Sure no problem!!  Navy Lodge is better priced than the other hotels too plus they offer pretty much the same ammenities I believe...Hoorah go Navy!

Here is another post from the same person posted after the one below:

No reason was given. It is quite sad because the Navy Lodge is great. The staff here is great and it I'd wonderful being so close to base. It was especially vexing because the place was full of recruits:( But orders are orders and I think it is best to learn to be flexible early on. This shouldn't put people off staying at the Lodge. It is wonderful. Just be aware that if your Sailor is staying on at GL this could happen. We are just so happy now that nothing can bring us down :)So proud of my son and the other graduates.

Here is what was posted on the PIR 12/12/2014 group about sailors attending GL A School visiting Navy Lodge:

Comment by My2kidz on December 12, 2014 at 11:35pm

Thanks FTLW and diannep. Today was wonderful and we couldn't be more excited except for one snag. The Sailors checking in to A school here in GL were expressly told they couldn't visit the Navy Lodge. No exceptions or chits. We are changing hotels as are many other families. No one knows why but I would warn future families whose sailors are staying in GL for A school to at least be aware of this happening.
Comment by diannep on December 30, 2014 at 3:27pm

Not true, mindyeus.  I'm sorry to say.  It is not up to Navy Lodge to allow the sailors to see their families; it is up to the Navy.  The info was not incorrect that we passed on.  I spoke directly to a mom that it happened to (and she knew of 4 other families in the same position).  So please know that this is not just heresay.

Comment by MarNavyMom on December 30, 2014 at 3:21pm

I am happy to hear that! I was going off what I read probably on Face book we are staying at the Navy Lodge too. Thanks for calling.

:)

I just called Navy Lodge...asked them if our graduate could hang out with us at the hotel she said absolutely...I then asked even if their A school is in GL, she yes they can still hang out with us...she said there was incorrect info about that circulating...all is good :))))

Comment by mindyeus on December 30, 2014 at 3:14pm

Oh no, our SR is in GL for his A school :(....now what?

Comment by Jenn..CRB'sMom on December 30, 2014 at 1:05pm

I have not booked my hotel yet but was wondering if the Navy Lodge was the best one to stay at and if so why?

Comment by MarNavyMom on December 30, 2014 at 12:39pm

Good Morning! I saw that too. Brrr is right! We can decorate the doors and the graduates can visit Navy Lodge as long as they are not staying at Great Lakes for A School.

Comment by mindyeus on December 30, 2014 at 11:41am

Good morning!!  I just saw the temp out in GL!! Brrrr!!!  Are we to decorate our hotel doors or something?  I thought I saw a comment earlier about that?  Also are the graduates allowed to visit us or hang out at the hotel?  We are staying at the Navy Lodge...just wondering...
