Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 067 and 068

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

no letter from my SR yet :(

was really hoping to receive one today but nope, I am so very sad and upset that I hadn't gotten a letter from him. when we talked Sunday he said he hadn't received my letter I sent the week before so I don't know what is going on, but I am so very upset and just want to cry

Hi there my daughter is in ship 11 division 68 and is supposed to graduate on the 24th as well. I have not received any letters yet hoping maybe tomorrow and I sent her several letters which as of last Sunday she left a message briefly for me (I was not home) that she had not gotten anything yet. I am very anxious to get some news she may call again tomorrow. I will be getting a phone card for her now that I know she can have one and also send her some stamps. I wanted you to know I had not gotten any letters yet so you would not think you were alone. W are statinga t the springhill Marriot and will be going to Sarge's meet and greet that Thursday before graduation. Is anyone else staying there?? Hope to meet lots of new friends and families so we can all help each other. My daughter will be going to Meridian Mississippi after boot camp for additional training is anyone else's SR going there from this group??

Hi shortcake, our kids are in the same unit. We are staying at America's Great Value, but will be going to the meet and greet. My son is going to Pensacola after boot camp for 6 months. Finger's crossed that your letter comes tomorrow.. I am waiting on mine, too!

We're staying at Navy Lodge. Will be at the meet and greet as well. My daughter gets to stay in GL for the winter! She says it is frigid there!

You are not alone, Joni. I haven't gotten a letter yet either. I ran out to the mailbox as soon a I heard the truck coming every day this week, and came back in disappointed each time :(. I just keep saying "maybe tomorrow". They are coming, we just have to be so very patient!

Good evening moms and families, glad to hear letters are coming in now , very sorry and my heart feels for those that have not gotten one as of yet . It appears that Sunday was the first day sr were able to mail out , our son was there last year and we usually got letters on Thursdays also. It could be that even though 067 and 068 are brother div's , that 068 mail person started after 067 , so maybe 068 didn't get mail and 067 was for a few days . It looks like about a four to five day time frame for mail coming and going based on when the date on mail on the form letter and the letters today .

I don't like to be so down, but with Christmas coming an not receiving a letter I am in tears and feel so lost without my son, I just pray he is still doing well and that things are going great for him and fellow SR's. may have to just wait for a phone call from my SR as he is probably writing others and I know they are extremely busy with BC, but I guess I am just down today. this is hard!!! I don't know how my dad managed it when I went into the Army when I was 21 but he did, mom had passed about 8 months before I went in. I just cant wait to hear from my SR and then at PIR give him a huge hug and I probably wont want to let go of him, he is our only son and I miss him so very much, he was always there for me and we always talked everyday even when he was in college, even a little text message that said love you mom was awesome.

Joni , we are here for you. Anytime you need to talk or cry . It is very hard this time of the year , my daughters recruiter told me if she can survive this holiday season in bootcamp she is one tuff cookie and I believe she will do it . Trust me , my son was not a writer much less a talker , but he wrote me several letters some times two ot three a week and the things he said was amazing , you will hear from him and you will be the one he wants to write over anyone in the world , your letters to him is what will encourage him to continue to improve and make it thur. The recruits that get those letters daily do better adjusting to all the new challenges and changes , I write my daughter every day. I talk to her, I find just that right card and picture to include , I send poems , short motivational stories and a quote goes in every letter . Trust me even after you get that first letter your heart will melt and yet another good cry at that time. I have my fingers crossed that you get a letter today or tomorrow . I would expect calls Christmas Day , they really do want the recruits to call on these two holidays .

I wonder what it is about today?  I have had a grapefruit sized lump in my throat all day today and can cry if you look at me.  I can't even begin to imagine what Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are going to be like, My Lord!

just got a call from my son!!!! big Congrats to the division for being the first to get Bravo Zulu on their test!!! my son got perfect score and the division in whole got over a 4.5 so they were the first to get that!!! they all get one hour to make calls today so keep your phones close by and my son gets 2 hours as he is the EPO and got a 5 on the test! he sounds so happy and talked about inspections, they got fitted for their dress uniforms this week, and are going great!! he got off the phone after 36 minutes to allow others to make calls since he has extra time so he said given the time he is going to call back and hope that his dad will be home by the time he gets to call again, I am so proud of the divisions and getting the great scores on the test!! he finally got my letter on Tuesday an a letter from his grandma then at 11:30 one night got another letter from a friend, he has plenty of time on phone cards so the ones I sent to him he is going to give out to any in the division that needs them. I am so proud of him and the divisions as a whole!

I just heard from my daughter finally!!!! I also just got 6 letters that she wrote awhile ago. She said all of the ones we sentence her just came in the last day or two. She said they are all doing well and she also got a perfect score on her test and she passed her swim test that she was concerned about. The date is still the same for graduation.
She told me they can call again on Sunday but then not for awhile after that and probably not on Christmas so watch your calls Sunday!! Hope all who had not heard anything has now gotten some good news like we just got. Very very proud of all of them!!
Wow , I couldn't believe when she called today. Great job , and thanks to the RDC for that time ,
