OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

OK Ladies.....I Got A PHONE CALL !!!!!!!!!!  I was so.... happy.  First thing i said was, "please tell me your still graduating".  He said YES!!!!  ok this is for Div 079 the info he gave me.....

he had his wisdom teeth pulled 2 weeks ago and a root canal done, then he was confined to quarters for 2 days.  that is why he didn't call, so he said. He said they have been so busy that they haven't had much time  but he told me that.....

tomorrow is the Fire 2 test.

Wednesday i can not remember its another test i am sure ....sorry

Thursday PFA

Friday Gas chamber

Captains cup this weekend

*()

Wed & Thurs Practice for Graduation

He was also told he gets a phone call then and gets his orders for A School around that last week as well

I asked how everyone was doing and he said good mentally just tired of all the yelling and ready to get done, then he said only 11 Days left.

sorry ladies it was only a 5 to 7 min phone call then they were told (heard RDC's in the backround) they only had 2 min to get off the phones.  He has to shave off 1:30 for his run but got everything else done under the limits.  I hope he does it I told him he can hes an athlete he can do it

Just wanted to let everyone know what he told me thanks for listening and all the info you all share.

Does anyone know if the brother Divs train and do the PFA together? For example, do 076 and 075 do the PFA together?

diannep - I remember from ex husband bootcamp days.   LOL  I wouldn't do that to any of them.  Bad enough they are struggling.

Comment by diannep on January 20, 2014 at 9:40am

Wheew....ok, ladies, thanks for clarifying!    All I could picture were some SRs having to eat 181 brownies...while doing pushups and situps!  :-)  Just didn't want anyone to get confused

Good Morning!

Comment by Stephen'sMom on January 20, 2014 at 8:47am

diannep...jessiesmom commented that her daughter told her in a joking manner that she wanted 181brownies made.  I was joining in the fun by hoping she planned to share with div comment.  Thank ya'll for guiding us to know when we first started this journey that care packages were a no-no.  You may have saved a lot of SRs from a lot of grief! LOL :)
