Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 085 and 086.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Has anyone in this group gotten a letter yet? I would love to get one before Christmas. I hope they are all doing well! I'm sure they are.

Just checked our mail. I'm sure we'll be last so far away; plus, he is a poor letter writer. But I'm encouraged by reports from others and would love to hear anything about our Divisions!

Waiting patiently for that first letter....Not! Has anyone had any luck finding any pics on Facebook? I can not locate the bootcamp site, if anyone else has ease let me know. I think our family will be driving up for graduation but have not booked any place to stay yet. I have a 13 year old son that will be going with us so If anyone else does too, maybe they can hang out. Do we have to book the meet and greet or just show up?

Lydia, I do believe they would like an RSVP for the meet and greet, so they can get a head count. I am thinking of going to the one the Sarge hosts. We have been looking at hotels and I find Courtyard to have a decent rate. We have never had any complaints with that hotel.

I have not heard from my daughter either, besides the form letter, but then she told me not to expect her to write much. She said she would be too busy studying. They say no news is good news so...!  Bigzomom, I know what you mean about the handwriting. My SR had really neat handwriting already, didn't think it could be any neater, but it was!

I think they will change a lot. As I'm Christmas shopping, I keep seeing things in the stores that I think she would like. Then I remember, she may not like this anymore, or it may not fit into her new lifestyle!

I have not heard from my daughter yet but am hopeful everyday when checking the mail and my cell phone is glued to me just in case she calls.  Bigzomom and herbgarden, I thought the same thing about her handwriting on the "form" letter.  It was the first thing I noticed!  Am hoping for a call on Christmas, but with the amount of recruits in 15 divisions, I doubt each one will be able to call home that day.

I check the mail daily and sleep with the phone by head. Nothing from my son yet. If I was informed correctly my son will not get much liberty before he goes to Connecticut. Has anyone heard anything about this. I was told this by his recruiter. I know that they are not always positive. Maybe we will all get a Christmas surprise and get a letter on X-mas Eve and a call on Christmas.

Hi Ttsmom, We are in the same boat. My daughter is to go to Vitgina. What I understand from her recruiter, is that after graduation they wiil get their orders. Then they will have the remainder of Friday to spend with their family, and be back that night to the base by lights out. Then if there school is at another base they usually leave on Saturday. If you are like me that was not what I wanted to hear,
I do hope we hear from our SRs soon. Christmas shopping has been so different for me this year... I didn't buy any "cute cloths" make-up, or other foo- foo. Well hope you all have a merry Christmas.

Thank you for responding. That is exactly how I understand their liberty to work. We can spend Friday with them but we can also go be with them at the airport until they leave. Yes, Christmas is much different. I am very proud of my son, but there is a huge void. I try so hard not to cry. I can't even go to the grocery store without feeling empty. LOL. I can't wait to hear his voice.

My son is from the same ship and div. I received his letter last week. He didnt write anything personal. I havent received any calls. They say no news is good news. I would love to hear his voice, if only for a second.

So any news from your son yet? I wonder if our kids know each other?
