My daughter is on Ship 14 Div 083 her PIR is 2/7/2014. She called last night to say she may be leaving to A School Early sat morning. We're flying in from Washington, D.C. And made plans to stay the whole weekend. Has anyone else heard this?

I was told my daughter would be headed out early Saturday morning too. Thats why im returning home that day. Only one day with her. : (

My sailor left on Sunday..just depends on the flights available..after BS they get their orders and flight arrangements part of the processing out of BC...the Navy moves them out to make way for the new incoming and the RDC get a day off!...You might ask..Why does the Navy wait until the last minute?..well, only those that grad get their orders and flight to A school or the fleet...when grad from A school they are on flights or driving off base only hours later, gotta keep them all moving on to the next steps...

I understand just trying to get clarity. Hopefully I'll be as lucky as you and she'll have a Sunday flight.
Thanks guys for the info...
Where is she flying to? My grandson is going to SC after PIR on 2/7 and I haven't heard that. We were under the impression that we had the weekend. My daughter is staying until Monday, 2/10 to stay with him!
She's flying to Pensacola Fl.
Just found out my Nuke flies out early Saturday morning (6am?) to SC & he will be leaving for the airport around midnight Friday. Our return flight to Colorado is on Sunday so are researching things to do and stay warm all day Saturday. Sad that we will miss having Saturday with our loved ones.

You never know depends on flights available that day...did you take the outings flights seat availability....:) There's navy Pier half indoor mall and the Gurenee Mall near the RTC...we went to soldier stadium, went up to the top of Sear's tower, took a drive around the lakeshore drive, walked out to the lake ...all in 8 degrees weather...my sailor flew out on Sunday had all day Saturday...you don't know for sure until BS is over and they get orders and travel information.....
