Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 913 and 914

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I got a second call this morning for more information. It was very short but my daughter was able to tell me that they have started receiving mail and that they have had a few chances to call home so far but their division keeps losing the privilege because of too much talking. She also said that yesterday was training day 1-3 but today and tomorrow are hold days because of the holiday. Hopefully we will get a letter soon! Happy New Year!!!
Laurajo: my daughter is DIV 913.

I haven't received any letters from my daughter. I have sent letters, I write her on average everyday. In reading all the posts it seems her ship and division are talkers...lol...She did call Christmas day but, not much info was given as to what she has been doing. She was quite emotional while talking to my husband. He said he spent most the time calming her down. She was emotional, I believe, because she realized just how much she missed her family, and not due to regretting her decision. I don't know what to think but, I do know things seem to be going well for her.

Just got my 2nd phone call from my daughter. DIV 913. She said they had to march through 1-2 ft of snow to get to make the call. She said things were going great. They shoveled snow for about 30 min this am. She's the RPO for her DIV. So very proud of her. Oh, she said they were eating very good!!
Just received a phone call from my son, great start for New Years. he said there is a Blizzard right now, it's cold but with all the uniforms they are wearing its hot, lol! He is in DIV 914

Is he on ship 02 div 914.. and he got to call? thats awesome.. My daughter in law is in this div and we have not been so lucky..

My daughter is also in division 914 and I haven't received a call yet... :/
I also got a call from my son on New Years Day! It was a 30 min call so it was the first REAL conversation I've had with him since he left home! I am feeling much better now! He said he really likes the guys in his division, everyone gets along and helps each other out. I asked him if he met anyone in particular that he became friends with and he said no that everyone was like family. I asked him if there was anything he likes about the experience in general and he said he feels like the other guys are just like him. I don't think he felt that way in high school! He also said that they were having a blizzard! When we were watching the news they showed Chicago and it was a whiteout! My son is Div 913 PIR 2/7

I just got to talk to my SR for 34 minutes! She said she's doing very well, and she's taking care of the other girls. She also said she's gotten really close to an SR from San Diego, so if anyone has an SR from that area in 913, please send me a message, I'd like to get to know you!

I'm so happy for everyone that received mail and phone calls...but sad for myself I have not received any phone call nor any mail, I'm still praying to hear from my daughter soon Ship 02 Div 914.
Oh no?! Division 914 called today at 3:00pm CST. Does she have a calling card with her? Or could you have missed her call somehow?

No worries if she has no calling card because they can purchase them at the NEX there with their Recruit Cash Card, issued to them when they arrived at Bootcamp for supplies.  Also, Jeanna's Mom, you can mail her a calling card ... just be sure to get one that has at least 250 minutes since the pay phone connection eats up alot of the minutes.  Also, the other SRs are very good about lending their cards to those who don't have one yet, just so that their shipmates can make a quick call home.  It is possible that she had an appt at the time the division called or "watch"and missed the division calls.  Hoping that you hear from her soon !
