N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

It looks like this group will have two performing divisions if 914 is in this PIR Group. I know 913 is so that would be 913 and 914.

PERFORMING DIV

Do you have someone in the performing/90o's division? Performing divisions info:
There are actually three different performing divisions that rotate. One is a working group called ships staff and they work behind the scenes with VIP's and as greeters, side boys and body snatchers. Side boys for a Receiving line for the VIP's to enter through at the start of the ceremony. Body snatchers walk up and down the isles of sailors and make eye contact and even speak to the sailors to make sure they are not about to pass out. They often lock their knees because they have to stand in one spot for such a long time. If they lock their knees it can cut off the blood flow and cause them to faint. Of course the sailor behind them does their best to catch them  Another part of the performing divisions is the flag corps and they carry and perform with the 50 state flags during the ceremony. The third part is known as The Triple Threat. The Triple Threat is made up of the band, drill team and choir and they all perform throughout the ceremony. It is so amazing how they can pull this all off in such a short time and still accomplish all that is to be done during boot camp. They are either chosen for this division or they can volunteer for it. If they have band, flagcorps, drill team, choir, or marching experience they can volunteer. They can also be handpicked or volunteer if they have high ASVAB scores. They don't expect them to need as much time to study which gives a lot more time for practice  Once they are in the performing DIV they may be able to try out to be a part of the Triple Threat and be in the band, choir, or drill team. I hope this helps you all understand what your recruits are doing.

Tiffany,

Divisions starting with 900 just means they are in performing division, either flags, singing, rifles, drums, etc...These are usually integrated male/female divisions.  There is not a male 914 and female 914, it is just about 40 are male and 40 are female in the same division.  They train together with another 900 division.  They split up into separate male only or female only barracks for the showering and sleeping

I ended up using Frontier and got a fully refundable ticket no date change fee at anytime with no baggage fee from Denver to Midway for $250 RT otherwise it's $137 RT for their standard ticket

Milwaukee sometimes is cheaper to fly into on Southwest depending on city you are flying from, so like babblesnboyz said, check both Milwaukee and Midway.  It isn't always cheaper, but some of your N4Moms veterans in the past flew into Milwaukee and found it to be cheaper from their cities of origin.

Glad you got a letter today, babblesnboyz!  We got our first one yesterday and it was like winning the lottery (almost).
