N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Re SW Airlines: Since SW doesn't fly in/out of anywhere close to where we live, I'd have to take another airline to a major West Coast hub to catch the SW flight.  Will try to do so, but already tried to take an Allegiant Flight to LA and connect w/SW there; it was going to cost me around $1525.00 for two and one is a senior!   So I may have to bite the bullet and go with Alaska or another airline that does fly out of our local airport for a cost of around $850.00 for both of us - and pay the $20 for a bag just to be able to fly out of our local airport and not have to drive 5+ hours to another airport to depart.  Thanks for advice on making reservations, esp. hotel, now.  So happy N4Ms exists!

I just wanted to say thank you so much to all my friends on the PIR group pages. Many of you are new friends but some of you I have know for a few years as we became Navy Moms and have created such a special bond. This site got me through some really hard times and I have often come here to ask for prayers for my Sailor and for my mom who has been battling severe lung disease for a very long time. I am here today to ask you once again for prayers. My mom passed away this morning at 3:00 am. She went peacefully to be with our Lord and her mom and dad and other family members in Heaven. She will be greatly missed and always remembered. I would appreciate it if you all continued to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. And please keep my Sailors and grand baby in your thoughts and prayers as well as they drive home from VA to be with us. God Bless each one of you, Lora (Lala)

I made my flight reservations on Southwest and hotel reservations for Thursday and Friday at the beginning of the week.  I wanted to wait to see what airport he would fly out of before making my reservation for Saturday.  Already received "the box" and form letter but still waiting on a personal letter for my SR has anyone received personal letter from your SR yet?

Dragon, my daughter arrived on 12/10, I got the box on 12/13 but still no form letter. She is in Div 914 (according to her recruiter).

JulesB my daughter turned 19 on 12/10 the day before she left. It was so hard to celebrate her birthday knowing she was leaving the next day.  She ate so much food and cake, knowing it would probably be one of her last fattening meals. haha

Happy 19th Birthday to my SR! First of many apart :(  I haven't received the form letter either. His Recruiter says he is in DIV 089. From what I've read, looks like PIR is 2/7. I really miss him!!

Good Morning!!! My son left on 12/12/13 and I have not received his letter yet either. I know he is in Div 090 but not much else. I think they probably had to wait for others to complete their division so their letters are taking a little longer. Don't worry(those who have not received your letter) it will come. I know the waiting is difficult but it will all be worth it.
