~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Bobbi:  If your sailor will be flying out for A School, most likely Sat will be the day that your sailor will leave.  Sometimes they leave on Sunday if they can't get flights on Saturday, so we suggest all try and stay until Sunday just in case.  You can visit with your sailor at the airport, getting a gate pass to go to the gate (bring ID!).

Those with sailors staying in GL for A School luck out...they will have PIR Day, Sat, and Sunday....all daytime Liberty, they must return to base at night...but lots of time!  Those flying out will have from after PIR until about 8 or 9 pm with their sailors. The sailors are bussed to the airports in the wee hours of Sat. morning normally to wait for flights. Some may leave as early as 6 a.m. but some may be waiting until early evening!

I also got the form letter today.  My son is confirmed for  Ship 04 Division 807, PIR is 2/7.  The address the recruiter gave me was correct and I was relieved that my letters are heading to the right place...sigh of relief.

It's the number of the training group ..training group 13 is the 13th week of the Navy's fiscal year which begins in October. My son is the same ship and division. Just made reservations at naval lodge for PIR.

I got the form letter in the mail.  Confirmed for Division 807, Ship 04, PIR is 2/7/2014.  I am so relieved because I sent out a card and letter today not totally sure I had the right Division #.

I am so happy.  Now maybe I can concentrate on something else for a few minutes.

Ladies,

If you know that the Box will be arriving this week, but need to leave the house to run errands, just leave a signed note--it has to have your signature on it-- giving them permission to leave it on your porch or wherever you designate.  It will save them having to come back the next day.
