N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Diannep: we spotted our sailor when they paraded past! It was almost overwhelming. And as expected, he had reason for not getting the call in. What an amazing, wonderful day! We have a few hours in the morning to see him again before we start driving, hopefully ahead of the snow. Thanks for your help and support.

TogaMom:  Thanks so much for confirming the "short cut" into RTC.  I was hoping that it still worked!  :-)  Glad it did!

BeachBunny - Thanks for the advice!  My son is flying out of O'Hare....so, I'm glad I didn't cancel our reservations!  Got to see my son today...and again in the morning!  Life is Good!  :)

Congratulations to everyone Sailors & families what an amazing day !  Truly unforgettable.

We are staying at the Ramada Waukegan and I am looking for any families that are heading over to Midway airport early AM. My Sailor will be there before 6am.  Possible ride share ?  We are flying out of O-Hare in the afternoon, and I have the airport transfers covered.  Just want to be able to see our Sailor in the AM @ Midway.  Thought I would check on this site first.  Please let me know.  I am available to depart anytime it will be for 2.  Thanks again for all the support and excellent advice.  Looking forward to maintaining in contact thru this site.  : )

This was the best advice ever, thank you diannep!

For those who want to drive, stay to the left on Buckley (main drag to RTC)...line of cars will be on your right. Bypass RTC...turn around at/near the train station which is right past RTC. Head back down Buckley from the opposite direction. It is an easy left turn into RTC then...no wait!

It was amazing!

B's mom. I'm so glad you made it. I think you were on our plane in DFW(2301) that was canceled. We made it too.
