~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My son never really liked to write so when he called I asked him about not receiving any letters he told me he didn't have much time to write but liked getting mail from me.  I told him not to worry about writing back and I would just keep sending to him. It is hard seeing everyone else getting letters but I don't want him to have to worry about me waiting for a letter.

You can use initials and hometowns/states with the division number to try and find others on here who's SRs are friends with yours!

Good Morning All !

Ladies, remember, we cannot post the last names of the SRs on here.  If you posted last names, please delete your comment.  Just click on the "x" in the post box.  Thanks!

RAINE, There are lots of free tax preparation sites for military and their families. H&R block, Turbo tax, and the IRS also has a free site to file taxes. There may also be a VITA office on base where your husband is, which would also be free.

Lots of choices just google gree tax preparation for military members.

RAINE13,

If you use the TurboTax software, their software is on sale at Costco for $39.99 (there is an automatic coupon until 01/26/14.  They can walk you through any changes in your taxes.  You can do one as Single and one as Married Filing Joint and see what it shows you.

Hi Friends!

"But also for this very reason, giving all diligence,

add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,

to knowledge self-conrol, to self-control perseverance,

to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness,

and to brotherly kindness love.  For if these things are yours

and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in

the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Kelly, you may have provided enough info about the other SR (division and home state) for the mom to find you on here..if she is on here.  Remember only about 10-15 percent of the SRs are represented on this site.  Very sad.  If you know her initials, you can post again and add those too.

Emittwife:  As far as the best seating at PIR, you will have a division section to sit in.  You can also sit in the balcony.  We sat halfway up in our division section and could see fine from there.  If you get there early enough, you can check out different seating within your division section before the crowds come in.

So we all know tax season is here, I usually do mine, and my husband taxes, however 2013 was extremely busy, we got married, and he joined the navy, im just wondering do i need to file a certain way this year, since we had those changes,an also I was the only working all of 2013, my husband first check from dfas was in 2014,so is my taxes still simple?

Any answers greatly appreciated, I dont want to pay someone to do our taxes.
