OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

Here are the links for the Meet and Greets available for this PIR date.

(Please RSVP to the Event you are attending...Sarge says he is getting 200+ people at the larger PIR's and wants to make sure he has enough food! Thank You!)

Here is a rundown of all three M & G's.

6-8 pm at the Ramada.

Finger foods – Chips and salsa, veggies and dip, egg rolls, meatballs, maybe another and it could change. (This is what they had when I went. Sarge was not doing a Meet and Greet then)

Bar – or you can bring in your own soft drink or water. Those staying at the Ramada get a voucher for to free drinks.

Hostess provides a name tag and will come in and greet everyone and ask if anyone would like to speak.

5:30 - 9 pm at the Sundance Saloon.

FREE transportation from Springhill Suites, Marriot Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, Residence Inn, Candlewood Suites and Crossland. All other local hotels for a modest fee.

Guest Speaker from the Base (when available) to provide info on where to eat, things to do, how to save $$.

FREE food starting….they also have a menu if you want to order something.

Sarge has lived in the area for over 30 years and knows it well.

Sarge has arranged with his friend Nick at Trattoria-Pomigliano in Libertyville for a FREE meal – ANYTHING they want – for your Sailor.

There is a DJ.

Plus, Sarge goes above and beyond the “call of duty” to help Sailors and their families. (He is the “go to” guy for Taxi (shuttle) service. Prices are great and again does more than he has too!)

Do you mean the Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire?  If so, they are about 13 miles from Sarge's M&G...they may not have a shuttle but you could take a taxi to any of the M&G's if you don't have a car.  If it is Homestead Suites - not sure where they are located but you can get the addresses for any of the M&G's on this website and mapquest them :)  Good Luck!

at these meet and greets which one is the closes to the base? we are staying at the naval lodge? thanks guys, have a good night

From what I can tell, Flanagan's is closest to the Navy Lodge - the others aren't more than 4-5 miles away though :)

I have updated the links for Sarges and Flanagans :-)
