Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 091 and 092.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi!  We haven't heard from our son who is also ship 03 div091...no phone call, no letters.  I'm trying to be patient but it's so hard.  I know that no news is good news.

hey nicksmom.  We received two letters today.  My son also mentioned he has to have wisdom teeth out on his right side. I thought they did that sort of stuff during the P days...did your son say when they would take his out?  Our SR mentioned they were having alot of IT because alot of them had not learned to be quiet.  IT is intensive training(much worse than regular PT)

Hi DNmom, he did not mention when he is getting them out just that it hasn't happened yet. I sent him a letter with lots of questions so hopefully he will answer soon. :)

Hi Nicksmom.  Have you heard from him lately?  We got another very short letter yesterday.  He sounded pretty good.  Hope you are doing well.  5 more Fridays <3

Hi DNmom, we have only received 2 letters so far. His gf has also received 2. He sounds better. He said he passed both his DEP advancement and PFA tests. He still doesn't understand why people won't shut up, but the more they get yelled at the less they talk. He has only received one letter from his dad. Between his gf and I we have sent 15 letters...not sure why he hasn't received them. He has been too sick to get his wisdom teeth out but he said others have had theirs out. I'm glad your son is doing  well. Yes!!! 5 more Fridays.

It's funny that you mention the ones that keep talking, that is exactly what my son said, that there are a few that just won't shut up when they need to be quiet.  I told him likely, it's nerves.  I am sure they are all a bit scared and maybe have never been trained to deal with such a unique environment   My son was in JROTC in high school for 4 years and his teacher was a retired Marine Drill Instructor,  so he has been conditioned a bit more.  I expect some of them have not.  I hope they all work through it and do well!

@LisaS I told my son the same thing but as far as I know he hasn't received any of my letters. I was wondering if he may not be getting our letters because he has been so sick. I told his girlfriend that they may think the letters will make him even more homesick. The only other thing I can think of is that because of all the talking and IT they are holding onto the letters until the group shows improvement. Any thoughts?

I would hate to think they are withholding mail.  I would not think they would.  I originally wasn't sure my son got my letters either in the beginning.   ]The first letter he sent didn't mention anything about getting my letters, but he told me that they had lost the key to their mail box and so it took a bit for them to get letters and to write letters.  So it is possible that by now he has gotten them.  Keep writing, no matter what.  I am sure they will get them.  It just takes a week  before you know anything because of the delays in sending and receiving.

The letter I received from my son dated the 30th had said he hasn't received any letters at all. I hope that they got them this week. From what he says they have been only able to write on Sundays, so letters should go out today and we will find out mid week if they are getting them. He also mentioned that they have had extra IT at the begining but made it sound as if they were starting to settle down. lets hope!

I sure hope they received their letters by now. The last thing they need is to think we haven't been writing. From my son's postmarks on both letters he sent, it only took two days for them to reach us here in Northeastern Ohio.

Hi eveyone. Hope you had a wonderful Holiday. Like most of you, no phone call or letters for me either. It's hard to believe that he's only been gone 17 days. No news is good new though. I want to also share that I received the Challange Coin for, "our", ship today. I'm very impressed with the quality of the coin. The details are great and it has a good weight to it. I also ordered a ribbon from "Lala". She had to call me yesterday to verify some information on my order. We had a wonderful conversation about our kids and she shared great insight on the journey ahead for me as well as my Sailor. Thanks Lora. That was a welcome/needed conversation, xo.

I received my first letter and the form letter yesterday. When I spoke to my son on Christmas he said that he had just mailed them on Sunday, that they have been busy and that was the only day they could send out. So expect letters this week ladies.
