Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 091 and 092.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Yay! We received another letter from our SR today. He thanked us for the cards and letters. He also mentioned he is a section leader for his division (091). He sounded really excited. I guess they don't have much time to write but I was certainly thankful to get that small letter!
Does anyone know what week/day our SRs are on? I guess our SR cannot remember to write that on his letters. Any help would be most appreciated. I understand how to count them, I just want to be sure I'm on the right day when I start counting forward.
I got a letter from my son today. He is Div 091. He sounded really good. Letter was dated last Sunday 30th. He was very happy to get all the letters, asked me to keep them coming. I had been sending some comics, so he would have something to smile about, but he said it is distracting to his studies, so he suggested I not send them, but "definitely send the letters! ". I sent pictures and he said he was able to keep the pictures, so it's good to know what to send and not to send. I just wish and pray that that he continues to do well!
@ lemonelephant..can you suggest a good place to stay when we come for PIR? I have read some of the suggestions. We were leaning towards Navy Lodge but I'm not sure how far from Sarge's Meet and Greet that is. I know Navy Lodge is close the the training center. I would really like something centralized since we don't know anything about the area.
My best friend's son graduated boot camp Dec 2011 and she suggested staying at the Springhill Suites or one of those in the same area of Waukegan. It's about 3 miles from RTC and she said there were plenty of places around it for food or shopping and was close enough to RTC. So I think that is what we are going to do. I know those hotels and would feel better staying at a known hotel.
I'm the same way, we are leaning towards Springhill or Country Inn
We decided to book a room at the Ramada Waukegan. It was the only hotel nearby that had a room big enough for a good price. My husband, myself and my son's gf are on the list, but my two older sons and my mom want to come to at least see him while he is on liberty. None of them are positive that they can get time off of work yet so I thought to be safe I better reserve the bigger room. It was much cheaper than reserving two regular rooms.
Hello everyone. Happy New Year :) Wanted to know from any of the loved ones that have boys on ship 03 div 091. I have been reading that there have been a lot of chatterers on that specific ship. I have only received one letter so far and no phone calls. The letter was up beat but that came week before last and now I am getting worried. I have sent more than 15 letters to him so far and at that point he had only gotten 1. I haven't been able to get on the computer for over a week due to a corneal abrasion, bah. Trying to catch up.
Hi everyone,
I woke up this morning to pictures on FB of a friend of mine from work and her family along with their new sailor. He just graduated this past Friday from BC. I am even more excited now for the 8th! They looked like they were having an awesome time!
My son's gf text me and said that there were not enough new sailors in the above sailor's graduating class for A school so he will not start his until our SRs graduate. My son happens to be going into the same line of work, so they will be in A school together.
