not falling apart was so hard, I got advice from a friend that said "just breathe and let her do the talking" so thats what I did cuz as soon as I heard her voice my throat choaked up. I knew if I broke down it would make her break down, she held up really well until we had to say goodbye, then I heard the quiver in her voice and that was all she wrote for me! ha
I tried my best to stay strong too. I didn't want to waste my precious time talking on tears but the second I answered the phone,. he said babe? in a small squeeky voice,. and then he cried for a few minutes and I kept asking him questions How he was How I missed him How I knew he'd be call,. and he still couldn't pull himself together to talk. He talked,. and he'd start to get better and then just fall to pieces again the whole 30 minutes. Tears my heart up =/ I Hate seeing him like that,. because he is not the type of person to cry. He really misses us. I kept reassuring him graduation was just a month away and he can do this and he will be able to talk to us alot more at school. I also got my missing letters today 6 pages,. and my information for DEERS. Thank goodness I was getting worried about that.
I got a call this afternoon too! I was driving home from work and my phone rang...thanks for the heads up. I was able to talk to him for 15 minutes and he said he had to go.... then he called his girlfriend for 15 minutes, not his father. He is doing much better now, he said he did not start out very good, but it is good now. He passed all of the test so far, so he was really happy.
we are a quiet bunch this weekend! Can't wait for our next letters to start coming!!!
I was wondering if anyone else was thinking about as a group, wearing a same color scarf or something that will help our SR's find us in the crowd? I believe we will all sit in the same section by division. I told my daughter I was going to try and find some neon material and wear something that she can spot me with. I also have one of those cardboard hand fans that businesses pass out with their logos on them and thought about gluing neon yellow paper on it and putting I "heart" my Sailor! and maybe her picture on it.
thoughts or Ideas anyone?
OMG! that is a great idea. I'm going to let my SR know and go find a scarf. lol
Did you guys order the ribbons from Lala. They have your SR's name and Div # listed.
I didn't know about this. where do I order the ribbons?
Hi, you can check the Facebook page Unique Memory Makers or email uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com for info.
