Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Froggy ship---so glad you received a letter. I was hoping for one today since we didnt get one Thursday, but no luck. I am not expecting anything now until the "l'm a sailor" or maybe not til PIR :-).
Received my USS REUBEN JAMES SHIP 02 coin today. It's pretty cool.

We received a letter today from our SR. He said he will have a scheduled call on February 25. I suppose that will be his "I'm A Sailor" call. He's been assigned honor guard and said he DID perform in the Feb. 7 graduation. I thought I spotted him in the third row of sailors who marched off while the two front rows stayed on. I watched it again today (for about an hour and a half - over and over and over again) and convinced the second sailor in the third row (the row that leaves) is definately him. I thought it was him originally but then they didn't acknowledge Div 915 as performing that day......but he was there and I'm convinced I saw him. Diannep, if you are reading this, I hope on PIR day he doesn't say, "that wasn't me mom!" LOL

Oh so glad for you!! My computer locks up and get slow and we put a new anti-virus on it that fixed a Turbotax updatting issue, but it's still locks up. I will check that cleansweep too~~

Most of my friends here know I have been having computer issues, especially with this site for a long time. No matter what I did it continued to get worse. Yesterday I couldn't log on at all FOREVER lol. It took 2 hours just to get to the internet and another hour to get facebook to open. I thought for sure I was going to have to but a new computer. A friend from facebook helped me by sending a link to cleansweep my computer and I am shocked at how well it works now. I crossed my fingers and turned the computer on and within seconds I was on this page WHOOOO HOOOOO, you don't realize how much you would miss it until you can log on. I am definitely happy with the results and it was FREE!!! So, Good afternoon Navy Family :)
