For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My son leaves early tomorrow from Ohare and we want to wait with him. Does anyone know how we are able to do that? Do we just meet him at the USO

does anyone know about midway airport security if grandparents are allowed to wait with sailors while waiting for flight? heard immediate family and not sure who it could include

Just ask your Sailor which airport--Midway or O'Hare--he is flying out of, what time his bus leaves RTC, and what time his flight leaves. The Sailors are all brought to the airport early in the morning, about 1:30 am or maybe a little later. Your Sailor will know when the bus leaves RTC. Then get the directions from the computer or your hotel and meet your Sailor at the airport. O'Hare is about 35 mins from RTC and Midway is a solid 1 hour. Be sure everyone has their id with them in your party. Go directly to the airport--don't try to follow buses from RTC because you might be following the wrong one!
The Sailors meet on the 2nd level of the Midway terminal. Offsite parking is less than parking at the airport lot. We parked in the Red Lot for a $14 flat fee and the airport shuttle brought us to the terminal. The driver knew where the Sailors were When the Sailors are called up in groups to get their boarding passes, the family members follow after and are issued their Gate Passes to go with them. You will go through security. We got to be with our Sailor daughter from 2:00 am to 10:30 am!! Don't forget to take pics of them with some of their buddies.
Sorry, I don't know about O'Hare, but find out which airline he is leaving from and that would help.

I know I saw on here somewhere about getting to sit with our sailors waiting for thrir planes. Can someone tell me what we need to do or how we will find them. Graduation was great and my sailor looks great.
