While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

If SRs don't call in this group, it may be they are in the intense part of their training where they are working hard together to earn reward flags for drills, barracks, academics, etc... During this time, you will only be receiving their weekly letters. Some SRs mention they are going into this period and some don't, so hang in there!!

Sarge hasn't put up the Meet & Greet for your PIR yet, but it will be next. Keep checking the Events section on the right and you will see it, then you can RSVP whether you will attend at the top, then put in how many in your party in the comments. Click on View All to make sure it's not hiding on another page too.

4:30 on east coast and I'm anxiously awaiting a call from my SR. He called last week at 4:00. Has anyone received any phone calls today?

I have been looking for info. on his meet and greet also and have not seen anything.
I took the test and also got a 7. Looks like I need to study up a little, thought I better learn some of the "lingo" also so I can understand him when we do talk.
No letter or phone call so far this weekend. I know they say no news is good news but it is still hard not to get to talk to them.
I want to know about A school also. We thought we knew where he was going but just before he left he thought it may be different. We decided to plan for the weekend of PIR just incase he could spend it with us. If not we will make the most of the trip and enjoy their wonderful weather :)

Hi BigJonsMom, I read somewhere that if your SR's A school is out of state, they will have to be back at the barrack's by 8pm. Hope that's helpful! I was also hoping to get some suggestions for you all on where to go to get a bite to eat after PIR? We would like to stay kind of close so we don't spend all our time together in the car. Thanks in advance!

Here is the website (Craig's Ebay site) for the challenge coins:
They are awards given to your sailor for accomplishments. The first one is usually their Bootcamp Ship name.
