~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I got 2nd letter today too ! She's in Div.916. Good news is she already passed all the swim tests. She failed the first time. They are now doing guns and marksmanship practice. Soooo happy today !

Yay, I got Letter #2 today and I got a call last night around 530. I had to pull over because I was driving home from out of town and was scared I would drop the call. She said girls are going to get their hair cut again today, they were fitted for their new uniforms the other day (4girls fell on the ice marching back but nobody injured). They had a sad night because mail was held due to weather. The girls sound like they have it all worked out though, they only use 1of their 4 trash cans and only one of their shower rooms to minimize their cleaning. SR said she passed her first test and also got her first solo IT (missed belt loop)

my husband said his division 94 starts week 3 day 1 today
Comment by diannep on January 30, 2014 at 2:55pm

This PIR group should be in Training week 3.  Some will be finishing that week now, others the first part of next week, however all finish within a couple of days of each other.

Comment by diannep on January 30, 2014 at 2:52pm

Well, actually....bootcamp is 8 weeks long normally (give or take depending on holidays they may have when there) wihich includes 6 weeks of actual training.  Some will be in a "push" division...that means that they will have a few days less of training because they started later---to get all done.  Normally the divisions do BattleStations (final test) at about Training week/day 6-5.  However, in the push divisions, they may do BattleStations at week/day 6-1 or 6-2.  No worries, they get it all done!

Training weeks/days are counted differently than Bootcamp week/days since Bootcamp will include processing days when they arrive and a few days after BattleStations before PIR.

Sorry,

They do not fly out of our city, so I guess it will be a last minute deal.  We're staying at the Sleep Inn
