~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I agree with what both Kelley and 2sailormom posted below. My son had watch once when he was there and missed the division calls...thankfully, his RDC allowed him to call me after his "watch"....but he was so tired, that he made the mistake of leaning against the wall during the call (not allowed) and I heard him being chewed out by the RDC in the background. But it was worth it for the call!
Just keep the phones with you...even when stepping out to get mail or in the bathroom. You would be surprised how many have missed calls in the past during these times.
Hoping all get letters this week...since they will mail out Monday of each week from now on, you will know what day to look for your letters after this week!
Yes, please, ellen...I'm sure it is probably just of his right ear lobe...because we know he is WALDO in the Navy piks! Please share!
Filnavymom my son is in division 916, and he called us Sunday. He did say that the people who had their wisdom teeth removed didn't get to make calls, Also, I've read that if they are on duty when the calls are made, they may not get the chance. Hopefully you'll hear from her soon.
Hang in there Filnavymom, there are many reasons why she may not have been able to call, my son rarely seemed to get calls when others did, she may have had watch..and I haven't received any mail yet either, but Sunday was the first day they were able to write, so look for mail Wednesday or Thursday...if she is going to miss a call again, she can send a message with another SR who has a loved one on here to let you know that she is ok
Hi everyone !
My daughter is in Ship 02 Div.916 and we didnt get a call from her nor receive any letter yet except the form letter. I am quite worried. She is my youngest (18 yrs. old) and she has never been away from us. Any news from that division ?

My husband had a quick call yesterday, an information needed call but told me that he was on Light Duty Days the last 5 days and now is finally Fit for Full Duty! He sounded excited and ready to get going, he said that he had some catching up to do but should do great, he missed his PFA and Swim test, but should make those up this week I think, I'm so ready for some mail!!
