DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Dianne's - I think what I'm getting is with this position they skip Phase 1 in " A" school and move straight into Phase 2 - a reward for hard work maybe?
Comment by diannep on February 21, 2014 at 8:34pm

kkjetz:  They can get promoted from E-1 to E-2, from E-2 to E-3 with these leadership jobs.  Some may even go from E-1 to eventually E-3.  Maybe that is what she is talking about?  They cannot go higher than E-3 in Bootcamp though.

Other than that, the leadership positions at RTC are all over after Bootcamp, but they take the learning experience with them!

Froggy:  We hear Giordano's is good pizza!

Hi everyone - I don't post bragging rights often as I'm usually asking questions but I got 2 letters today from my daughter. Today's letters were full of positivity, answered a few questions, (and despite a million to her I do mean a few) and gave me some updates. My daughter is MA for Ships Staff. I didn't share that because I didn't know what it was. Despite that she's very proud and happy with her job. She said something about it counting outside RTC which is a bonus. It is a leadership position and I can see how she's taken that to heart. My daughter is a great leader but doesn't often show that side of her to "management". She was 1 of 4 who earned a 5.0 on an exam and was disappointed to get a 4.0 in a recent test. She talked about her division a lot (096) and how well they were doing and how they all seem to care about one another and help each other. She's ready for the next stage but has one more hurdle. Please say an extra prayer that God will give her swift feet and stamina so she can pass this last test. I know she's not alone and the division wants everyone to pass together so pray that all SRs achieve their greatness during these last few days. Thank you Navy Moms! You have been a blessing to me. ;-)

cupcakegirl, Well, they may get to make extra phone calls, maybe another trip to ricky heaven, they still study, maybe a pizza party (or taco party), and they practice for PIR. :)

What do they do after they complete BS?  If they have BS on a Wednesday and don't have PIR until Friday, what are they doing for those extra days?
