~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

AMEN, B-Ready!  Hell Week sounds horrible, but it really is just a very busy week for them with lots of inspections, etc.  So I know they will appreciate the prayers!

Good Morning Everyone!  Would like to continue building the BattleStations schedule for this group.  Soooo.....if your SR has disclosed a BattleStations date to you for their division, please friend request/private message it to me.  We can't post them here on N4Moms or on FB, but we can private message them.  Thanks!  They should be starting this drill during PIR week since this is such a small PIR group.

congrats on the cal jax, he was probably just tired since the call came in so late last night. Good that he is getting better and so wonderful that who and one of his friends mom have connected on here :)

Got my call last night at about 10:30pm He sounded so dry and lifeless but assurred me he was fine and no longer had a cold.  He could only talk for a few minutes. Said Marlinspike was coming up.  Also one of his friends (benny) wanted to say hi to his mom and he knows I know her from here.

So sorry I was MIA today, we were traveling today and made it safely to Wilmiington. We will be here to visit our daughter in college for a couple days and then head up the coast to VA Beach to visit our Sailors for a few days as well :) I hope everyone is having a great day :)

I know that many of your recruits have laptops and smart phone, iPads, iPods, iPhone etc and they will be taking those electronics with them to A-school either after you meet them at the airport of after you ship them. Please make sure your recruit/Sailors know that those items must always be locked up when they are not using them. It is very sad to say this but there are Sailors who will steal from other Sailors. It happens all the time even on board of the ships from their fellow shipmates. I have heard from several families who have a Sailor who has had one of these items stolen. One had his iPhone stolen right from his bunk while he was in it sleeping. So please remind them to lock up their valuables all the time and to add the app for finding them if they are stolen. We don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Your SRs can have their electronics, civilian clothes (although they cannot wear them immediately), laptops etc. The one thing they all seem to want ASAP is to get out of their tighty-whitey BC briefs, so if they wear boxers take them a package. LOL

For those who are staying in GL for school they may take them back to base with them on Friday after they have moved over to the TSC side for school. For those flying out of GL, they cannot have them until they are at the airport (you can meet them their and wait with them until their flight leaves.

As for the civies and boxers, boxers can be any color, but must be plain colors, no flowers, no Sponge Bob, etc. :). T-shirts if blue or white must have something printed on them, they cannot be plain. Black can sometimes be mistaken for navy blue, so if black I would be sure they are also have something printed on them (better safe than sorry). The legs of their jeans cannot touch the ground and cannot be torn or frayed. Remember anything you take them and they "keep" will have to be carried by them when traveling or moving. So no desktop computers, 32in televisions, irons and ironing boards. HAHA!

I would ask you SR in your next letter what they would like you to bring to them, if you have not already done so.
