My SR let me know what week/day he was in on Jan 19...I am trying to update my calendar so I can keep an eye on where he is roughly in his training....My question is, in February, there are some days that could be holidays for them, I am thinking that they will have Presidents day as a holiday, but Washingtons birthday is right after that...do they get that as holiday also?
I send my newsletter in a regular envelope. I double side the printing and make sure it is not more than 10 pages total (5 double sided). If I have a lot of stuff that makes the envelope bulky, I just mail two envelopes. It will seem like he is getting multiple items then also!
kryssieb; The news letter is such a cute idea! Maybe you could still send those things in regular envelopes, and just send the manila envelopes when she needs to send some things home. :)
oh dear. I have been sending manilla sized envelopes weekly. :-( Hope she won't get mad. I have been including a "family newsletter" type letter, some envelopes, stamps, and sunday comics. Yikes!
I agree with the ladies here. Most RDCs probably don't have issues with the colored envelopes so don't worry if you already mailed some. Probably better in the future to get white ones just in case. They don't get "in trouble," Just could be "hazed" a little! Like you all said, they will accumulate upper body strength! Now...those who send musical cards...no no! They sometimes have to do pushups until the music stops! YIKES!
Good morning all!
I think there may only be one RDC who has given grief about colored envelopes. My Sailors said there was never any mention of what color the mail was. And, my son-in-law, also a Sailor said it was never a problem for his division either. All of then envelopes I sent were colored and it was never a problem. She also said, Mom I would not have cared if I had to do push-ups for every letter it would have been worth it lol. No worries ladies, think HaPpY thoughts :-)
Jackie - lol - so true. My SR was a JO gymnast so luckily she is used to push ups and sit ups. This should give her a friendly reminder of that training
barbsz, I don't think sending a manila envelope would be an issue. A lot of the SR's do get many, many letters and I would think that the RDC's would rather them send some home. If it is a bulky envelope, the worst they will do would be have them open in front of the RDC's, Once they see that it's a plain envelope, they will know it for them to send home mail.
Ladies, don't fret over the colored envelopes that you have already mailed, I'm sure they will be fine.
I didnt get a letter today either, and neither did my SR's mom. But, we live in NC, so we're hoping tomorrow is our lucky day.
I've also sent thirty plus letters, and all of the envelopes have been bright colors..oh gosh..
aww Barbsz--it will be there soon:) Im still waiting on my letter too. I hope it will be here by tomorrow:)
So happy for all who got letters!:) For those that didn't they are coming!:)
