My son said that he kept his RECRUIT cap.

Okay, have a couple of questions for ya.

I have a 16 year old daughter that is going to graduation. What paperwork do I need to bring for her to get into the ceremony... someone said birth certificate or school id. I'm not certain. Also, the same for my grandson.

Has anyone heard from their SRs yet with the I'm a Sailor call? I can't wait to hear from everyone when they get it!!!!

What happens to their Recruit hat when they do the capping ceremony? I am hoping that my son gets to keep it so that I can bring it back for his other nephew that can't go.

Removed the posts with BS dates...we aren't supposed to post them here.

I don't think that they get the cap until after they complete Battlestations 21.  The day after Battlestations 21, I think I read somewhere that our Sailors will be allowed to go to bed 2 hours earlier than normal.

I am just dying to know whether my daughter did pass her final PFA test.  I sure hope so.  I hope everyone out here has good news this week!

I don't know if Navy Pier is worth the trip in the winter...I have been there quite a few times and never really found much to do there in the "off season"...yes there are a few restaurants but other then that, not much else. We are going to the Willis tower as my father has never been to that and then maybe going to the Shedd if time permits. My son said he didn't care what we did, he just wanted to be with us.

I know you are all anxiously awaiting phone calls.  Enjoy the excitement and have a great time at PIR.  I have a recommendation.  If you go to Navy Pier, Capis Italian restaurant is casual and we had the best pasta dishes we have ever eaten.
