Good morning.  Having to catch up a bit.  leslie--my prayers are with you and your son, FTLW--prayers that the dog comes home.

Anxiously awaiting my phone call.

Good morning! It's last calls, last minute packing, and TRAVEL TO PIR week! Very soon you'll get to HUG your SAILOR. HOO-RAH!

All this time apart will have been worth it, you'll see :-). Take it all in, and grab every hour and minute you can. The next separation is A-school. Make sure to go look for N4M groups related to your Sailor's school and join them now. After PIR, this group will change to "Alumni of . . ."

If your Sailor is in one of the last Battlestations groups, be sure to ask about A-School travel knowledge on your I'm a Sailor call. Any last minute questions?

I will be on pins and needles all week!  yikes.

Comment by diannep on February 27, 2012 at 8:42am

Sarah'sMom:  Yes, go on that theory!  If they don't pass their final PFA by the time their division does BattleStations, they are supposed to call home and tell you...telling you not to come to PIR, they won't graduate.  Don't cancel plans if that happens because they will be in FIT DIVISION trying to pass their PFA before PIR, and most actually do.  Once they pass their PFA, they will go through BattleStations with whatever group goes next, even if it means going through with the next PIR group the night before PIR.  In that case, they would be at PIR, in uniform, but in the stands (balcony), too tired to march (up all night).  But even then, I have heard of some who manage to march with their divisions!

I know this mom is waiting anxiously; didn't sleep much myself; thanks for the informantion. It would also help if others post when they get a call , so the rest know it is coming soon.

No phone calls over the weekend.  I suppose as of right now, no news is good news.

Comment by diannep on February 27, 2012 at 8:23am

jackie:  That is very unlike SARGE to not get back to you.  Definitely text him again.  He usually is very prompt in responding.

So, we HOPE that someone did BattleStations last night...my tentative schedule showed one division, but I never heard from the 916 division so not sure when they are going through.  Just remember....calls can come in starting around 2 pm GL time today....maybe a bit later....just depends on their schedule today.  The capping ceremony should be going on soon up there (they trade their RECRUIT caps for their NAVY caps--very emotional time for them)...then they have their routine to tend to before being allowed to call.  Be sure to keep phones handy all day...in the bras if necessary!  :-)  Don't want to miss this very important I'm a Sailor call!

Also ask your new sailor if all in the division passed and post that info on the site here.  Not all may receive calls...if someone had "watch" they may not call with the group.  So it would be nice for those ladies to at least know they have a sailor ...
