Ha ha, I know, it is an odd title-imagine putting that on a resume. Luckily before my son went to boot camp a friend of ours had talked about them because he was telling my son not to lock his knees. So when my son told me what his job was, I knew what it was.
thanks for the clarification!!!!! I envisioned aliens in ufos parked outside, waiting for the body snatcher to load up bodies!!! LOL!
Body snatchers are from a 900 division and their job is to go up and down the lines to make sure everyone is o.k. and not going to pass out. If you stand straight for a long period of time and lock your knees, you cut off your circulation and pass out. The body snatcher will remove you from the line. hopefully, before you pass out. From what I hear, no one passed out at our graduation.
BrandonsMom, the picture of the body snatcher you posted is exactly what I am looking for from Div. 080 where my son was the body snatcher.
The body snatchers were the guys slowly going down each column during the ceremony. They would have been from a 900 division and had the yellow cords/scarf. It was their job to make sure no one fainted.
bimmer....body snatcher??? my son was in 076..second division from the n end. i did get quite a few pics but don't know if they include a "body snatcher"....what is the body snatcher?
Kimmic... my son bought his sunday for $530 its nice.. ... haven't skyped yet... too busy going out with the guys... LMAO.. they stand watch once every 8 days.. goes to indoc classes from 0700 to 1400 m - f and the rest of the time is his... has made friends with the EOD bunch... which is what he wants later on.. last nite they were talkin tattoos and sushi...LOL.. all is good
My son went out and bought a computer yesterday at A school $600. It's really nice and it was even nicer to be able to Skype with him last night!! Except he looks so exhausted. He still had watch for a few hours last night he was heading out to. I told him I would call and let them know he needed more sleep!!! LOL
Hello had a awesome time at graduation on 3/2~! Did anyone get more pics of DIV 079? would love if they would share! Didn't get alot!
PIR was an amazing experience. I can't believe they do this extraordinary event 47 weeks of the year. It was wonderful to look out at all the graduates and think about what they went through the last 8 weeks, and how they pulled through it - it was a very proud moment for all. Good luck to your Sailors in A school, and beyond. We stayed at the Residence Inn, and they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about graduation and the area. We got to spend time with our son on Saturday as we both had late flights -- we even were able to take the train into the city, so it was fantastic having that extra time with him. Now I love the fact that I can pick up the phone and send him a text whenever.
