Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 097 and 098

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Harley03. I did get a letter today sounds like all is going well. 2 weeks I can't wait!

Please send prayers for my SR's grandfather.  He is the best Grandpa, any child could ever ask for.  He is also a Vet.  But right before my son went into BC his grandfather broke his hip.  He is also a diabetic, and has been on kidney dialysis.  After the hip surgery, it is common for the patient to be transferred to a nursing home because it requires daily physical therapy to recuperate.  But, because of his dialysis he had to stay at the hospital.  He appeared to be doing good last week, and they finally transported him to the nursing home.  But a few days later, he developed an infection in the leg, due to the diabetes.  They had said it was possible that they would have to amputate his leg.  Today I found out from my ex-husband that our SR's grandpa is dying.  He now has pneumonia, and they don't know how long he has.  Grandpa was supposed to come to PIR and see his grandson graduate.  In fact, I was hoping to have him hand our SR his challenge coin after PIR.  My ex husband contacted our SR's recruiter.  We were told that we could either have them tell our SR about his grandpa, or just wait until after PIR.  We've decided to wait.  The recruiter said our PR may be able to come home for a weekend or a couple of weeks after PIR, and delay going on to A school.  We just don't want to delay our SR's BC since he's come this far, or distract him from BS week.  Please keep our SR, his grandpa and their family in your prayers.  He is a wonderful man, husband, father and grandfather, and I love him dearly.

We've decided to call officer and have our SR call home to tell him. He is man enough to decide what he wants to do. It looks as though Grandpa may not make it much longer. He can't take his dialysis now, which is causing him to regress. But we're still waiting for our SR's call. We will encourage him to not miss BS, the cap ceremony or PIR. And explain that it is what Grandpa would want. But maybe they will allow him to come home for a day before BS to see his grandpa one last time. We only live 1 1/2 hrs away from Great Lakes. What would you do?
