OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

cannot say enough good things about Old Sarge.  My daughter was there for her boyfriend's graduation & I contacted Old Sarge - he made sure she was well looked after & I didn't have to worry about her at all.  She ADORED him, too!  Thanks, Sarge!!

Hello CatMom509 I did have toll booths w/attendants but I also came across, 2X actually, the "coin only" toll booth with not attendant and those were $1.50.  I think it really depends on which highway/freeway you are on.

I'm also leaving the group. God bless you and your Sailors in all that they do :)

Comment by Ced Mom on March 12, 2014 at 2:25pm

There are still toll booths on the tollways. There are attendants that man the booths. The cost verified from $1.50 to $1.90. I recall even paying .50 on one. If you don't have exact change the attendant will give it to you. I made sure to have at least $10 in change to make it easy on myself.

One more question, ladies~

Since you just had PIR, can you verify that there are still toll booths on the tollways that cars that don't have the IPASS have to pull into to pay?  If you paid tolls, was there an attendant or was it a machine that accepted cash?  Did it give change or you had to have exact change?  Did it accept $1.00 bills?  Thanks~~
