Hello all, I was advised by many to post here regarding my questions re my sons graduation, transportation and lodging.

Let me introduce myself first. My name is Ericka. My son is supposed to graduate on 03/09 but I have no way of knowing if he will or not. So worried about that. He is in 09/086. I am the only one attending his graduation. Money for flight was given to me by my boyfriend so I do have the flight. I have not reserved a room anywhere yet because so far I cannot find anything I can afford. I arrive around 2pm on 03/08 at ohare. Sarge suggested that I ask if anyone would like to share a ride and share the cost of his taxi from there to a hotel. So I am asking if that is a possibility with anyone. Also, are there any single moms going that might be interested in sharing a room? A hard choice to make I know, but if anyone is as strapped and worried as I am, we might be a good match. I am just not sure what to do at this point.

I had hoped to get a room at the Residence Inn I think it is because they provide a free breakfast and a small dinner which would help me out because I will have little to no spending cash. My boyfriend hemmed and hawwed about the cost of the room at 87.00 night and now it is over 100.00 and many are near that at a decent place, so now not sure what to do. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for any advice you can give me!

What time are you arriving at Ohare ?

She arrives at 2pm, but is willing to waiting as long as necessary

2:05pm on American Airlines. I am still looking for a room. May have found one on the super cheap end. It's a one star which I don't mind as long as it doesn't have bed bugs! YIKES! lol

Blondi,

My crew arrives arrives at O'Hare at 2:50 and we only have three in our 5 seater rent a car.  If you would like to meet me at the rental car kiosk you can ride with me into town.  We are bringing the car back on Saturday but I don't know what time I have to me son so I am not sure of the ride back.  Send me a private message if you want to do this and we will work out the kinks.

I sent a private message to you crlmltn. Thank you so much for the offer! I really appreciate it!

Hi Ericka,

Please add me as a friend so I can send a private message to you.  A very nice gentleman traveling from Vegas (our boys are in the same division, and actually left together from Vegas) is flying into O'Hare and sounds as though he's offering to let you ride with him to GL.  Email me for details.  :)

Thank you SailorJsMom. I think I have found a ride. I am so overwhelmed with the generous offers for a ride! Wish I had found this website a long time ago I think it would have helped me while going through this wait for my son to graduate. Been very stressed out and worried. Cannot wait to see my son and to meet everyone at the meet and greet since I am traveling alone. It will be nice to have people to talk with before the graduation.

Thank you to the amazing people that put others before themself. Give honestly from they heart and do the next right thing.  May my myself learn from this wonderful 7 weeks and do the same for others. I look forward to the years ahead in growing and leaning as a Navy MOM... Not an Aunt or daughter. It is a bit different, though the blessings are all the same.
