N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Evening Ladies, I hope you all are doing very well! Quick ? for you. My SR's girlfriend would like to send him Valentine Card at BC. She plans to send in white Hallmark card sized envelope so as not to get him in trouble. However, it is not a standard size 10 envelope. Is sending a card of any kind (in white envelope) permissable while in boot camp? I look forward to hearing from you. Kindest Regards, Concerned Mom

LauraCam, that's good to know. Have you heard about the anatomy flash cards and coloring book? Hope to see and meet you aT PIR weekend.

Ladies, I just was advised that no longer will graduating Sailors staying in GL for A School have a problem visiting you in your rooms if you stay at Navy Lodge.  They no longer need a chit either.  They have privileges visiting Navy Lodge PIR weekend only.  Great news since there have been problems with that for the past few months!

Yes, I agree with CatMom, Concerned Mom &b Dad....no way to know what time of day the sailors will be flying out....they won't know flight arrangements until right before PIR.  And you are welcome!  We love helping you all!

Concerned Mom & Dad,

There is no way to tell whether your SR will be flying AM or PM until after Battlestations is completed and the flights secured by RTC.  Just depends on how many seats are available going to a particular A school location~~

Comment by mygemforever on February 10, 2015 at 5:52pm

Are any of your SR's going to San Antonio, TX for A School?

Good Morning diannep, Thank you very much for your constant provision of info. This newbie greatly appreciats it! Re: your PIR comment below. I understand not written in stone. Typically when flying out to A school, would that be an AM or PM flight? Thank you very much, Concrned Mom

Ladies, just a reminder if you are in your division discussion groups above too....please bring your questions to this main PIR page because we may miss them otherwise.  We N4Moms veterans are on 6-8 PIR groups at at time and do not have time to visit all of these discussions daily.  So bring your questions here and you can take our answers back to your group.  Be checking this main PIR page each day in addition to your discussion groups!

Just a headsup that some, if not all, of the Pensacola-bound sailors from this past weekend's PIR group didn't leave until Sunday.  That is not written in stone for each PIR group, but lets you know that it DOES happen for some sailors so try and make your own return on Sunday if possible so as not to miss time with your sailors!

Good Morning!
