~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

You are very welcome, Momof5!   We love helping you all and try to make sure our info is up to date.  Since I am the "old timer" on here having started 4 yrs ago helping in the PIR groups, I have seen lots of info!  We all work together to try and make your Bootcamp experience as "painless" as possible!

Heard on the news this morning that there are more major cuts coming to the military.  Be thankful that your SRs are on their way to becoming sailors....because it is becoming more and more difficult to get in and stay in the military.  So very sad to see this happening to our military.  I believe they said that our military will be smaller than it has been since before WW2.  That's kind of scary....

Well, Good Morning!

Thank you dianne, you're always such a wealth of information!  We would be lost without you!  I appreciate all of your guidance and patience through this whole process.

Momof5:  It is strictly up to the individual families if they do the door decorations.

Dittersmom:  I would just call Navy Lodge and ask what restrictions they may have on door decorations.  As long as you don't hurt the finish on the doors, I would think they are ok with most!

As far as the door decorations, is that usually done in most of the area hotels?  I have reservations at the Navy Lodge but our group has grown so we may have to get a suite at another hotel.
