Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Im posting this early as i wont be able to when the calls and posts all start! Just wanted you to know my blue candle has been lit and I have been praying for all of our battle station sailor recruits. I know you will be getting calls within the hour and will experience the same joy, smiles and excitement I did when I got the call a few days ago! It is amazing how you realize you are exhaling the stress you never knew you were holding for the past 8 weeks on that call and the New feeling is replaced with pure joy! Congratulations! I know I haven't yet stopped smiling! Celebrating with you all today!

diannep - thank you for the driving tip! Is there anything we can do to get the word out to moms/wives/fiances/girlfriends at the recrutier level? I found the site from another Navy mom that I happened to meet about a week before my son left for Boot Camp -- sure would have been nice to get on much sooner -- so much great information! I would love to help spread the word -- and I will at Meet and Greet, PIR, etc.! : )

Since some may be traveling as early as tomorrow, I wanted to post this "Sarge's" hint today.  This is for those driving to PIR as opposed to taking a shuttle (shuttles have no wait, they bypass the car line).

If you are driving, stay to the left on Buckley (main drag by RTC)....you will see the car line on your right of those waiting to get onto RTC.  Drive past RTC and then turn around where you can and approach RTC from the opposite direction.  It is then an easy turn into RTC, no wait!  A lady posted recently that this was one of the best hints they received and saved them so much time.

Remember only about 10-15 percent of those in a PIR group are represented on N4Moms (sad) so they don't know these hints usually!  That is probably why the RTC line is so long!

Be sure to tell those you meet at PIR about N4Moms.com.  You would be surprised at how many have no clue.  It is a great resource for the families during the schooling period for the sailors as well as the duty station period.  So it is never too late!

I'm not very good at this waiting game.  I'm impatiently waiting to hear from my daughter in Div 105 today.

I have my candle in the window and been saying prayers since early this am.

Hoping and praying that all of our SRs have made it through the night with perseverance and a positive attitude.  I expect we will all receive phone calls that they are now sailors!  I am so proud of their accomplishment.  Now I just need that phone call...
