Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Ladies, be careful giving out BattleStations dates on here or FB. RTC asked us not to do that, only private message. If you posted a date below, please copy/paste your comment and delete the date, and then delete your original comment. Thanks!
We can mention BattleStations after they complete them so tomorrow, we will talk about the divisions who are going through tonight!

No, Barb Mike: They can receive care packages and you can send whatever envelope color you want in A School! They pick up their own mail there.

Wow, no one on tonight. I had a wonderful phone call today from SR. He said that his div 918 took 3rd place in the captain's cup. The 800 divisions took 1st and 2nd. He was happy. Also told me that they did well on their 3rd PFA and earned the right to be back at 2200 after PIR.

BarbMike: Once your new sailor arrives at A School, they can call you/text/email (if they have their phones/laptops or else they will borrow someone's) the address you can mail to as soon as they receive it.

Is there anyone here that is from division 918 and wants to make a table centerpiece. I was looking on Facebook and we are not represented at all. I volunteered to make a basket for the silent auction. Yes, Catmom I have decided to just get it put together. I made pins and a door decoration. I also had t-shirts printed, so look for the mom wearing a long sleeved navy colored shirt. It has my name on it (ditter's mom). I am getting so excited.

Dittersmom, I found it by searching "U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command"...it popped up as a suggestion before I even got done typing the word "Navy". :)

So.......here we are 4 day 11 hours 9 minutes and 50 seconds!!! Sunday nights are my night to write my son's weekly letter. That has me wondering........does anyone know the "rules" about mail to A school? Does it work like when they started at Great Lakes, we have to wait for a letter? My son is going to Mississippi from Great Lakes.
