Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

So I did not get a form letter today, which is incredibly disappointing but I have some great news. I can't share it with friends or family on Facebook yet because so many people I work with are on my facebook but I was offered a big promotion today. I officially accepted and the announcement will come out company wide next week. I am so excited!

blessed beyond measure My son got there the same day and I have not received the letter yet. I did contact the recruiter and ask for his address. We are in Cincinnati Ohio so I would not have thought it would take this long. I know how impatient I am so I understand. I think I would just check back with the Recruiter to ensure there was not a typo in the text.

okay, still no letter but I broke down and contacted his recruiter and got a message back that he was ship 7111 div 104. Does that sound right? seems like too long of a number for a ship compared to what others are posting. He left Jan 13th but flew out 14th. How long should I wait for the letter before becoming worried? It has been 10 days (I know 1 was a holiday). I got the box on Monday MLK day and figured the letter should have made it by this week sometime.

Britmum- he was able to call me last night, because he was considering coming home. I hope and pray he has the strength to make it through. Please if everyone can say an extra prayer for him I would really appreciate it.

Just talked to my SR because he needed more names for his security clearance! He's doing well and he said his PIR is 3/14, so I just joined this group. So excited!!

Guess I will be seeing you in March Laurablue! Was a little hesitant to make reservations until I get a firm confirmation of the date....that date is way too convenient so I knew it couldn't possibly work out :)
Carrie...I know what you mean, my son is a Fla boy, hasn't seen snow that he can remember. I KNOW his butt is freezing!
