Nice to meet you SRmomfromSanDiego!  No phone calls yet either, but I think it's still pretty early in the game to be expecting those.... Are you going to be at any of the "meet and greet" get-togethers?  I haven't heard yet where my son will be going for A school.  Last I heard, they couldn't make up their minds yet.

I'm new to this forum stuff- where can I find the info regarding meet and greets/ get-togethers?  Thanks.

The easiest way, though the info is listed in several places, is click on the "Events" tab at the top of this page, then go 2-3 pages into the future dates of the events, and you'll find the stuff for PIR 3-16-12.  The meet and greets are on 3-15-12, the evening before graduation.

Hope you can make it!

My son is in 03/090

Welcome Denean-Trevor's Mom!  Mary and I were starting to think we were the only ones here!  Is your son also graduating on 3-16?  How are you holding up through all this?

I have received 2 really upbeat letters from Will in the past few days. Sounds like everyone is settling in. Still no phone call but should get one this weekend.Liz got her first real phone call around week 4. She was lucky - she needed some information for her security clearance so she got to make 2 calls home in the first 2 weeks but that is really rare. Normally, if you don't get a call before week 4 or 5, that means everything is going well for your sailor recruit. The early calls usually mean an illness or injury and you never want those.
