OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

MamaKats,

Sarge's Meet & Greet is fun and full of information!  It is a the Sundance Saloon, which is closed to the public for this Navy family only event.  It is totally kid and family friendly too~~  No worries!!

If you want to sign up for his shuttle to go to PIR for $3.00 per person each way, those are around 8:30 pm that evening.  I signed up even though I had a rental car.  I didn't want to deal with knowing shortcuts, dealing with the other drivers, and parking.  We were dropped off at a gate and walked only 50 yards to the graduation hall entrance.  We got our shuttle ride back to our hotel in the lot to the right of the NEX.  I called Sarge's number to make sure I was getting one of his shuttles back as there are other companies there vying for my attention.  847-212-0246

luvMyBoyz<3,

You certainly are prepared!  Don't forget some of his own comfy underwear for him to have at A school, and a set of loungewear for him to wear in your hotel room only after he has enjoyed a long, private shower in your room!!

Look up potential places to take him to eat and write him to ask what type of food he would like to enjoy.  A steak??  Chicago pizza??  Are all your driver's licenses and ids going to be current for PIR weekend?

MamaKats:  Here is the link to Sarge's MeetandGreet.  Yes, be sure to RSVP on there and put the number attending in your group in the comments section.  Sarge likes to get a count so he knows how to order the food....free to you all!
