Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Remember, PIR is only the start of your Sailor's Navy journey! Stay plugged into Navy for Moms as there are groups for A school, C school, ships, bases, ratings (jobs), states, regional, twins & multiples, and the Christian Chat group that I am a part of~~

We are leaving in the morning heading to Great Lakes !! I got 2 one hour phone calls today from my son. He got to get on the computer and go to Taco Bell ! He was so happy ! He also said a few of his best friends family's are on here. I cant wait till Friday....to see him and the best friends who helped him through ! We are going to Sarge's meet and greet tomorrow night ! I hope to meet some of you ! I pray for safe travels for all of us...

Making it a two day journey.....stopping for the night with relatives and 6 hours left to drive tomorrow.....received my last letter in the mail before I left, and it seems someone on here is the mother of my husband's closest friends at bootcamp, will be nice to meet everyone in person at the meet and greet tomorrow!

We are leaving tomorrow for PIR!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!! We will not be at the meet and greet because we get in too late. :( I hope to meet a lot of you at PIR. God Bless everyone and safe travels! :)

wickwook it will ring!! It will probably be later this afternoon.. I received my I'm a Sailor call 4:00 Chicago time.. Everyone have safe travels.. We are leaving tonight, so hopefully to miss all the Chicago traffic.. See you all at PIR 3/21/2014 Go Navy!!!
