OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi ladies,

I haven't had much time  to spend here, but what I have read is that PIR is just Friday, and they leave for A school on Saturday or Sunday . Is that correct?

Comment by diannep on February 8, 2014 at 5:59pm

This PIR group should be in Training Week 2 next week.  There are 6 actual Training Weeks and then they are sailors (after BattleStations)!  This is probably BootCamp  Week 3 though.  That is where the confusion can come in, because like ellen said, they have processing days before they start training, counted in BootCamp weeks but not in Training Weeks.

My fingers are crossed for you MommaDukes. My son said even though they're considered brother divisions(117&118) they do most everything together. He sounded good and said they're doing ok. Tomorrow is their first chance to write letters. Our letters are 5 days behind. I hope this news can give you some type of calm until you hear your SR's voice :) Cyber hugs!

Processing days are not counted as training days. The first training day would be week 1 day one, second day week 1 day 2, and so on. Weekend days are also not counted so Sat and Sun are also hold days.

If the first training days is Thursday (example)

Thursday week 1 day 1

Friday week 1 day 2

Sat week 1 hold

Sun week 1 hold

Monday week 1 day 3

etc.

Yep Anny, they earned it!  My son also said week 2-day 3 (he thought...he said they all blend together) Processing days don't count, so that's why.
