Thankyou Diannep, lol I actually have reservations at both springhill suites AND navy lodge.....Just can't decide which one I should use and hoping someone else will say something to help with my decision. Nice to stay near sarges also nice to be really close to base. What do most sailors prefer to do on their liberty? Maybe that will help.

My son is ship 14 div 127. Letter going in the mail today. Cant wait to hear from him to see how hes doing. Anyone have suggestions or feel strongly one way or another about any of the hotels in the area for pir?

Good Morning!

Marie, you may want to check out Navy Lodge (book in your SR's name)....or....Springhill Suites, Courtyard, Residence, Holiday Inn Express....these last 4 hotels are about 4-5 miles from RTC....near Sarge's MeetandGreet.  Call the hotels directly and ask for the Navy Grad discount.

My son is on Ship 12 Div 123.  Any other moms with sons/daughters in the same?  Can't wait to see him at PIR and meet other family members.

Montana,

Just make sure you get your OB/GYN's okay too.  If he says you're good, that should satisfy your family~~

The mail arrives on Wednesday or Thursday to most areas.  Hope this is the week!!

Marie,

Lincolnshire is not too far.  It is about 10-15 minutes back down the toll road going toward O'Hare or there is a street way too.  The Waukegan/Gurnee area is 10 minutes by street from RTC and is where Sarge's Meet & Greet and a bunch of hotels/restaurants/SuperWalmart is located~~

Hey everyone! I don't know if I said that my husband is also Ship 13 Div 122. It's so strange having him gone and not having him at nights especially is hardest. It's crazy to think I'm gonna be 4 weeks from my due date when he has his PIR. My family is all giving me a hard time about traveling but I don't care what it takes, I will be there. Hope everyone's well. I really hope to get mail from my hubby tomorrow. I live in VA and he's in GL and if it got sent out on Monday, when do you think it'll get here?
Comment by Marie on February 11, 2015 at 12:43am
Where are people staying? Is Lincolnshire too far?
