Ready to see our Sailor tomorrow.

Congrats to all of the new sailors of this PIR group!  Safe travel today, enjoy the Sarge's MeetandGreet tonight, and be early to PIR tomorrow.  Here is a hint for those driving to PIR:
Stay to the left on Buckley (main drag to RTC), car line to get in will be on your right.  Bypass RTC and turn around at the train station right past there, heading back to RTC from the opposite direction.  Easy left turn onto RTC!  No wait!

Congrats!!!  It's a great feeling!

I just got my call.  I have a sailor.  He is in 14/128 and he said everyone passed.

b_rad'smom:  OOOPS!  Ok, I see what you mean.  The sailors are bussed to the airports, you can't take them.....Sarge will have lots of into at the MeetandGreet about meeting up with them, but all need to be sure to get the flight info from your sailors after PIR....The airports are used to having tons of sailors leaving there on the weekends and are a big help.  The USO is there too in order to help.  Sarge can give you parking hints when meeting your sailors there, etc.  Just make sure you know which airport your sailor will fly from.

However, you mentioned your sailor is waiting on a waiver in Bootcamp?  If so, they normally keep them at RTC until that is received.  I do not believe that they can send them to A School without the waivers being received.

Correct me if I'm wrong, other N4Moms veterans.....that is what I have seen on this site.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the new Sailors and their families!!  Safe travels to all to an awesome PIR!!

Remember, PIR is just the beginning of the Navy journey.  Keep plugged into Navy for Moms where there are groups for A school, C school,  ratings (jobs), bases, ships, states, regional, twins and multiples, and the "Christian Navy Moms" that I am a part of!

Also, the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command page on Facebook puts up photos from each PIR.  If you see your Sailor in a pic or more, you can download it to your own computer by either clicking on the picture, going down to Options and downloading it OR right click, "Save Picture As" to a file on your computer~~

Some of you may find your Sailor a little jumpy while on Liberty. This is normal!

For the past eight to ten weeks your Sailor has been told what, where, when, how, and why. They dressed, ate, slept, showered, talked, walked, marched, moved, studied, etc, only when told to, and they now don't have that. They are also told they might be watched while on liberty (and they are).

Gentle reminders of "cover off", and "cover on" (their hat) when needed. Don't try and hold their hand (can't do it), but you may take the crook of their left arm. Don't offer them a tasty adult beverage or a smoke (can't do that either). Don't hug and kiss them in public (no PDA), but you can give them a quick hug at the gate , when picking them up and dropping them off.

Sounds like a lot to remember, but it will be a grand weekend for all of you.

Safe travels!!
