Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 123 and 124

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Oh hooray! My SR is DIV 124 - has anyone gotten a call from any in this div? Mine arrived from Texas 1/29. I pray that he is hanging in there. I look forward to sharing and getting to know others.
Ellen0502 you are awesome for all that you do to connect people through N4M. Thank you!

Hello!  My SR is Div 123.  :-)  No call yet.  His beloved Grandpa (my husband's dad) passed away this AM.  We were trying to figure out how to tell him and it appears that most seasoned Navy moms are suggesting to go the route of the Red Cross.  It seems so sad that we can't tell him ourselves, but we don't want to do the wrong thing and make it worse.  I just hope it doesn't distract him too much.

If you feel you need to let him know while he is in BC, the Red Cross is the one to help you on this. They will contact the right person, and also make arrangements to let your SR know.

We were thinking of waiting until he graduates, but with facebook and texting these days, we are afraid one of his friends will find out and mention it in passing in a letter or something and that would be worse.  There ARE no secrets these days, even when we feel we are so cut off from communication...

My husband is going to call Red Cross and go from there.

The Red Cross routine worked great.  We got a call this AM and got to talk to SR.  He was crying about his grandfather dying, but there was a chaplain with him and he was away from all the other SRs, so it worked out perfectly.  He told us not to worry about him.  He is fine and is still glad he joined.  That was a relief amid all the other emotional stuff going on.  :-)

Glad to hear all went well.

Good morning..=)

i have not got a call yet my son is in this group too
wondering if our boys lost phone due to a behavior? or if they are juat really focused

Calls are not a given, and it doesn't take something to happen to not receive a call. Some division just "get" more calls than others.

For the past several months recruits have been granted more calls than they have in the past. Be prepared, the standard phone calls are, "I am here", "I am still alive", and the "I am a SAILOR". Above those calls..you are very lucky. :)

Hang in there, at least one phone call should be coming soon.

thank you :)
