Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 920
Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

My son is in this division. I am waiting patiently for my first real phone call or letter home. I so much want to hear how he is doing. I know some got to call home because their job requires more security information. But my son is going to be Hospital Corpsman. Only phone call I got so far is the "I made it here" 15 second call. :( Then I received his box of clothers and phone a week later. Then the form letter a few days after that.... I NEED MORE!! I miss him sooooo much. I will post if I get mail or a call.
TACOsMom, My son called today. Recognized ur son's name. I told him to tell him we met here. Brian heard about this site... maybe the other guys did also.
Hello fellow moms :)
Our SR is on this ship & DIV too
We are also patiently waiting for a letter, a phone call, a smoke signal!
My husband told me "I miss Octavio a lot". A bit of our background: my husband, hardly ever admits to sentimental feelings *sigh*
Reservations made at the NAVY Lodge from 03272013-03302013, booked AMTRAK from AZ to IL, will fly back on 03312013. Can't hardly wait to see our son on graduation date.
SYNTIA, Hi! My son was able to call today, and he recognized your son's name when I mentioned it! I told him to tell Octovio hello and that we met here.
I got the call, so relieved! I miss my SR so much, as we all do. He said no one in the division has gotten any mail but that they can't wait to read the letters once they get them. They wrote their first letters yesterday, so I guess it's tmie to start stalking the mailman LOL. He said it's tough and COLD and that he misses what he'd taken for granted, but overall he's adjusting. Can't wait for PIR, he's going to be carrying the FL flag, even though he's from NJ, something to do with his height. He sounded tired and a bit stressed, that some kids were sick, but not him, the food is pretty good, and that he misses the outside world, asked all about his favorite sports teams, and what's going on in the world. So good hearing his voice!
My son Brian called today. He recognized the flag, and I told him to tell your son we met here online.
I received my I AM ALIVE CALL- woo-hoo Monday around Noon 2/19, I spent 43min talking with my son he was allowed the long call because he already had his supplies. He is ship 02/div920 Things sounded a little rough for him, I told him he was almost 1/2 way through another couples weeks and we will see him. The 920division is the performance division, he said they have a lot of extra work. He says he misses his bed most. No complaints on the food, hmm thats odd he He said the weather was bi-polar. He will be carrying the Michigan flag, that is our home state. He told me they have not been allowed to get their mail yet or send any. How many moms/dads will attend Sarges meet and greet?
My son was able to call Tuesday, and man that was good to hear. He was so upbeat and talked a mile a minute. He said he's eating really well, and they're keeping them busy. He made Sgt at Arms. I got the letter today, and he is keeping his chin up while he waits for pictures and news from the real world :news clippings, magazine articles.... Gave me the warning "Please don't send food" or he'd have to IT (intensively train) while the instructors eat it.
Oh, yes: he hasn't received any mail yet.
Question...when and how do we get personal stuff to them, like their cell phones, and the boxer shorts he insists are going to be the first item he "needs" after PIR? I thought I read we could only give them their stuff at O'Hare on Saturday -- but he's not sure when he's going to nuke school, it might be a few days later. Thanks in advance for info!
