My son left for Japan on Monday and will be there for 3 years. It's really bittersweet i will miss him terribly but i know this is where he wanted to be stationed. He called me again today and said he brought a new phone that has an app called magic jack that allows him to call the states for free. I'm 1 happy Momma and will enjoy it until he has to go meet his ship.

I am glad you have had a great time with your son Dawny!! My son was also going to be going to Japan but they changed his orders and he has been stationed in Virginina for a month now and is on the USS George Bush. Oh, and he got married!! So he is happy as can be! I hope everyone is doing well!!

Hi All!

What a wonderful 2 1/2 weeks it has been but it all comes to an end in 5 days when he leaves for Japan for 3 years. Let the emotional rollercoaster begin again.Proud Navy Mom but i will miss my boy.

My son/sailor graduates today (8-14-12) from A school in San Antonio, TX (Fort Sam Houston).  He is coming home after that! Yeah! He will be home approximately 2 weeks, then off to San Diego, CA (Camp Pendleton). I'm so proud of him, and love him so much.
