Hi there! I'm starting this discussion for people who either need rides during the weekend of PIR or want to offer rides. I myself am too young to rent a car and I'm traveling alone so I'm looking to perhaps carpool with someone who is renting a car or maybe share a cab with someone? I heard that Sarge also helps put together carpool/ transportation services?
Anyways here's my info- I fly into MDW at 1:00 PM on Thursday and out at 6:00 PM on Saturday. My SR is going to A school in Pensacola, FL. I'm not sure if all the sailor's who are going to the same A school travel together or not... Anyone know?

Thank you. I haven't booked my hotel yet but I know it's going to be one of the few within a mile or two of the base. I am going to call Sarge tomorrow and see if he can help too. I would call right now but it's kind of late. Don't want to bother!!
With Sarge it is never a bother, call him anytime. And like I said if you cant figure something out, I will try to help you get there.
Hi eyeronics, thank you for starting this post. I have everything reserved except for a ride from the airport. We are renting a car but only picking it up by the hotel. It was a lot cheaper that way. Please share what you learn from Sarge. I may try to call myself when I get a moment. Thanks so much!! Cathie
Cathie, I just made a post on the main thread :)
Cathie-
Sarge says he charges $80 by the car load so if there is one person it'll be $80 per person, 2 people $40 person, 4 people $20, and so on. He puts together a schedule based on our flights and can then tell us how much it'll be based on that. If you are interested I would call him/shoot him a text telling him your flight info and email address. But I looked into taking the bus and it's significantly less expensive. It said it would be about $13 but ends up being a 2 hour journey because you have to take multiple different buses. I think I would rather just use Sarge if there's a couple people in the shuttle rather than save a couple bucks and get lost in downtown Chicago.
