Same with my daughter.  She will stay in Great Lakes too.  We haven't gotten the 3 week call yet but I'm carring my phone around every second.  My daughter says ishe's really sad if her name isn't called for mail too.  I'm trying to keep up sending something everyday but Sundays and the past holiday I coundn'tsend anything. I know exactly what you mean about writing strange things.  Doesn't it feel weird to write letters these days?  I think it has brought us even closer because we are sharing our feelings in ways that we didn't in the chaos of everyday life.  Can't wait for graduation!  Have you all made reservations yet?  We've been checking out some places but haven't called yet.  We'll be flying out of Atlanta on Thursday?

Wonderful! Idare. Rob stays in GL as well, to be a hull tech. He mentioned he's anxious to get his E3 rating... But either way he is E4 after A-school. I'm amazed that, thats his main goal. As for my writing... Its been weird as well. I've worked in the same field for years. Now I'm starting to tell him every detail of my work. I also try to send him stuff to share with his ship mates. I'm so proud of him!

SR sounding good, so took the plunge and Bought tickets to Chicago last night. Got a great deal on United from Dallas.

Will be staying all weekend. My daughter stays in GL for A school.

Still waiting on a call, she thought maybe this sunday!! Hope its after church

. Maybe we should skip! Hate to go running out in the middle of the service screaming her name to the rest of our family in the pew!!!!

THAT IS HILARIOUS! Definately would be a service no one would forget!  Where did you decide to stay?  We're looking at the Spring Hill Suites in Waukegan or the Courtyard.  Both in the same area.  Research says it's withing walking distance of lots of eating places and movie theatre and mall close by.  Has shuttle to Naval base for graduation.  Even a walmart across the street.  What else could a woman ask for especially while spending time with my "SAILOR"

Too funny.

My daughter called yesterday, I almost got into a wreck when I heard her voice.  She said go ahead and buy the tickets.  I do not know where to stay.  Any ideas?

We are staying at the residence inn marriott. Didnt get a call. Hope others did..

Thats great about section leader!! My daughter is "stick 3" carrying a flag at graduation!!  At least we will know where they will be standing at graduation.

I havent gotten a call yet, has anyone else? Since she has extra work, hope they didnt call while they were working...

 All5roc,

read above, many of us have gotten calls... we just don't understand what order they are deciding. The Navy for Dad's site suggests its an incentive tool. My son called last week, he had four minutes and he sounded good!! Good Luck - she'll call soon and congratulations on the stick 3 position!!

My son wrote last week he had a cold and missed the weekend because they pulled him out for bedrest. He said it wouldn't effect his graduation date because it was the weekend. This week medical told him he has pneumonia. What do they do for that. He's begging to stay in and not stop. I'm thinking - you can really screw yourself with longterm damage by not taking the time out to heal. Most people I know who've had pneumonia take a few days of hospital or atleast bed rest... then months to properly heal. Any ideas? the navy must deal with this all the time. He'll be devastated if they send him home over it.

My baby's really sick and I can't help... are they just going to run him into the ground and then tell him he's unfit? If anyone has any experience with this please respond. thank you

Oh! he also said the CMC's son was the one who was talking in the chow hall. He was first sent to a different division then was just ASMO'd back to day one this past week. Just an FYI... not one of ours!

So does that mean he's not in our division anymore?? Dont want someone in there that gets everyone in trouble...My daughter had said laughing was going on as well... Maybe he was cracking jokes!! My daughter did say the boys are awesome and that the division is coming together.

Correct he's no longer in their div.
