For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I know we are all looking forward to graduation, and very excited to finally watch our children and or family members become an Official United States, Navy Sailor. Until then, lets all share our experiences with each other. A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Comment by diannep on March 22, 2012 at 9:13pm: CodeMansMom: I would continue with your plans...they usually have them call home if they didn't pass their PFA ...but some have not gotten this call (they can' make the SR call...some don't). But I would continue with your plans...You would be surprised how many make up lots of time on the run (assuming that may be his issue?) in that last week. So....consider no news to be good news, as crazydaisy said.

Comment by diannep on March 22, 2012 at 9:10pm: If they are setback(asmoed), they do call home. But they don't do this until it actually happens...they give you the new PIR date. But this PIR group is so close to graduation....those being setback would be those who didn't pass their final PFA, so they go into FIT program....try every 48 hours...until they pass. Most do this before PIR...do BattleStations with another division or even PIR group, and are at PIR. If they don't pass before PIR, they continue in FIT until they do...and then head straight to A School.

I wrote last Thursday that Cody had been sick again in his letter and coughing to the point of throwing up but that he did not want to go to the clinic because he was afraid of getting set back and a lot of you told me to tell him to go to the clinic and they would give him some meds so I wrote hima nd told him that. Well I just got his letter today. He went to the clinic on Sat and they gave him some cough meds but he said it hasn't helped much and he was afraid he wouldn't pass his final PFA this week and get ASMOD. My husband and I are supposed to be leaving this Sunday headed north. We were going to spend a few days with family in Indiana before graduation. What should I do? Do you think they have done there final PFA tests yet? If he didn't pass it would they have let him call home? Really need some advice.
