Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

Got cussed at again. This will not fly at home. I see some battles in my future ;) Hahaha. We made it, ladies!! Everyone deserves a glass of wine!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on April 2, 2012 at 8:17am: tlwbetz- I would bet that he had watch when the calls were made. And, hopefully he will get to call again. I doubt it is a problem with not having a calling card because they make the calls from the NEX and they can buy a calling card there if they need one and they have money by now in their account plus they have a debit card for the NEX. Is there a girl or other family member he may have called? I have my fingers crossed for you and you both are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he calls today :-)

We sent him with 2 calling card's I wouldn't think they would be used up yet, plus he had money, OR couldn't he borrow someone's? Who knows? We wanted to hear his voice and hear ALL this good news from him - his last letter he didn't mention needing a new calling card... so who really knows? I know I will get to see him for graduation and that it is only a few days away...wasn't sure if we would get to see them on Thursday or if Friday at their PIR (grad) is the first time we will... we have some questions that probably only he can answer... thanks for helping me - been having trouble going to sleep and staying asleep - thank goodness for this site! Dawn, my name is Tammie - I sure hope I get to meet you so I can thank you in person (-:

He said that he wasn't sure why he hasn't called because he wasn't in trouble or anything. I told him if he got the chance to tell him to call his mom because I know how freaked out I would be if everyone else was getting calls and I didn't hear from you. He said he would try and then he suggested maybe your son didn't have a calling card? Do you know if he does? I probably can't say anything to really make it better for you. Just know he said he passed everything and will be graduating on Friday.
