Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

I was going to write him through the weekend but he doesn't usually get he letters I send Monday (since there's no mail service on Sunday) until Friday at least. I'm hoping he has letters all the way through Thursday night

I am wondering when you guys are going to stop sending letters to your SRs??

Also- I know several of us have been saying they get letters every day, but my SR's last letter said they get mail twice a week! All this time stressing over getting that letter in the mailbox on time every day. Hahahaha.

Comment by diannep on March 30, 2012 at 12:45pm: Amac: They can really call at any time but not usually before 2 pm GL time. My son called at like 2:15 GL time when he was up there. Others have PIR practice first. So keep that phone very close!

Also, ladies, if you can get on your sailor's FB, be sure to be checking that. Those who cannot get on the phones right away may pay for internet time and get on FB. Many have found out they have "sailors" on their sailor's FB before getting the call!

Means that they have an average of 4.5 overall (out of 5) and they have earned at least one flag in every area so far. The highest level flag is the Hall of Fame flag, which usually is determined after BattleStations. My son's division got this when he was there...they get very pumped when they know they are in contention for this...
