http://gma.yahoo.com/video/entertainment-26594234/sailor-shocks-gra... Hope this works clip from Good Morning America Play of the Day
I remember when my tears went from fear to pride. In my house to get to the bathroom you have to pass my SRs room, so every night when I walk by his room I say good night and every morning when I get up and walk by his room I say good morning. I still find myself crying from pride when I hear other peoples stories. The ones where they got their I'm a Sailor call, or the PIR was a memory of a life time, or as they were walking down the street with their Sailor, someone stopped them to say thank you for their service. OMG when did I get too be such a mush? LOL Google GMA and look for a clip called Play of the day from today its a must see, there is a picture of a women in a green shirt with a sailor next to her WATCH It!!!
I
printed out my GATEPASS!!!! woot woot

Lala: My son was home for 15 days after A School. I remember that the day he left the base, he said that didn't count...the next day counted as day 1. He was at Al School for almost 3 mos, and during that time, they accrue 2.5 days a mo of leave, in addition to what they have earned during bootcamp. Those having short A School at GL after bootcamp (usually undesignated sailors, I believe) may not have as much leave. Although...if deploying to an overseas base, maybe they get more? Not sure. The sailor I'm thinking of who had 2 weeks leave was deploying to Japan-based ship.
That would be awesome Dani :-) I hope he gets it.
He said in one of his letters a few weeks ago that the 2 weeks off had something to do with DEP, so maybe he is planning on working at his recruiter's office? I'm not really sure.
They normally get 10 days leave after A-school (not all but most) During that leave they can work at their recruiters office for 5 days (usually just a few hours each day) and by doing that, those days don't count against their leave.
Hello All,
Hope everyone is having a Good Sunday. Sorry haven't been on here much. Its been so Beautiful here, so i have been playing in my yard. Michael called last night, sounded like he a cold, but i understand alot of the boys are getting sick, it could have been from Gas chamber they had the day before. we are now down to less than two weeks!!!
Dani, Michael is staying in Great Lakes for A school too. He will be there for MM school. then he said he should get two weeks leave.
Hope you all have a Good night and a Great week. Hoping for call for everyone!!!
